Advanced Materials for Aerospace Reflector Tooling
The overall objective of the MAURA project is to research and develop advanced composite materials for the manufacture of aerospace reflector tooling with a reduced coefficient of thermal expansion and suitable mechanical properties. The project also aims to achieve a machining process that is competitive in terms of time and cost, resulting in a high-performance final product priced below current market alternatives.
The product to be developed is highly attractive to major aerospace companies, both nationally and internationally. The commercial partnership between MUGAPE and Mekatar represents a clear competitive advantage, facilitating access to international markets.
